Highlights of the Burgundy – Provence Itinerary

Lyon

I have visited Lyon so much, I’ve lost count! I absolutely love this town! Shopping, unbelievable cuisine with practically a Michelin ⭐️ restaurant on every corner, and the wine! This is our originating port and is filled with so much history. Also, it is strategically positioned at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône Rivers. Founded in 43 BC by the Romans and grew through trade. What a great city to begin our journey.

Beaune & Chalon

One of the most beautiful small towns of France, Beaune. It also has an incredible French Market right in the old town, I had so much fun shopping here with my last group. Spring is delightful as the market is brimming with fresh produce, handmade baskets and clothes. Chalon is considered the gateway to Burgundy and known for its wine and gothic architecture.

Pont du Gard

Arles & Pont du Gard

You can enjoy a guided tour of Arles (excursions included) or hop a bike and discover on your own. The guide will help you appreciate the finer points of Arles’s magnificent Roman remains, including the splendid amphitheater, one of the best-preserved in the world. Magnificent over the river, The Pont du Gard was once the highest bridge in Europe. At 900 feet long and 160 feet high, an imposing structure for sure.

Avignon

The southern region of France is just spectacular. It never gets old. Home to the Pope’s Palace, an ornamental fortress that housed the fleeing Pope’s of Rome. Walking around this provençal town will transport you back in time. This will be the final day of our French cruise but an experience like none other!
