  • If a trip is full ~ tickets will not be available for purchase – but I re-visit destinations several times a year, please comment below if you would like to go to a city or site
  • Pre-paid (Paypal) day trips are non-refundable and non-transferrable (sorry for any inconvenience)
  • Also, antique and/or shopping trips are not be suitable for children under 15
  • These small group day trips are for recreational purposes, please bring your Smartphone or camera to take photos and learn more about the Baden-Württemberg area.

On the first DAY TRIP for 2018 we’ll be visiting the puzzling town of Ravensburg. We will enjoy a walking tour around the city as well as a chance to visit and shop the famous Ravensburg Puzzle Museum. This three story modern museum gives the history and story behind how these puzzles became famous and it is not what you think ~ After our tour of town and museum tour we will enjoy lunch on the square. This university town is alive and vibrant and even though its January you’ll hardly notice the weather! Come out and play with us in Ravensburg ~ 

Baden-Baden - Salt Caves

Were the holidays a little stressful? Are you needing an incredible, restful nap! Today’s DAY TRIP is a restful day in a Himalayan Salt Caves in Baden-Baden, Germany. NOBODY gets naked on this trip ~ it is just a real nice nap! One of my favorite day trips we will also tour the town and also visit the Roman Bath Museum. After our leisurely stroll we will enjoy a nice lunch at Le Bistro, my favorite little find in Baden-Baden. This family-run small restaurant is filled with delicious eats and lunch specials that won’t break the bank!

  • Today we will be visiting the French Warehouse near Obernai, France and visiting the little town of OBERNAI on MARKET DAY!! Here you will be able to purchase small items and gather ideas for bigger pieces – this is a perfect introduction to the French antiquing markets right on the border of Germany!
  • MARKET DAY ~ Thursday is market day in the little French town of Obernai – lots of treasures to find here including specialty meats, cheeses and breads (you may bring a small cooler for toting if you’d like!
  • We will also be stopping for lunch (OYO) and dining at one of my favorite restaurants in the little town of Ottrott – Rouge de Ottrott. These barbeque ribs will make you think of home but you’ll be sitting in the tranquility of a french provincial town with wonderful hospitality.
  • Pick -up and Drop-off are at P+R Goldberg, Leibnizstraße, 71032 Böblingen
  • Lunch and shopping are on-your-own – please bring Euro

We will also be visiting the famous Les Puces Flea Market and a weekly antique market while we are in Straßbourg. If time allows we will be stopping at the famous CORA superstore on our way out of town. This fun and interesting day trip will tempt you with historical keepsakes as well as inspire you to be a European antique collector. Caution ~ these markets can become addictive. Come and enjoy a cold day away in lovely France.

Want to know the history of Fasching/Fastnacht/Fastnet? We will be visiting the fun Black Forest town of Bonndorf. The Narrenstuben Museum is not only incredibly educating but interactive. With hundreds of regional costumes and parade traditions this DAY TRIP will definitely put you in the know come February when all the parades really begin. Come join me on January 16th for this fun, interesting and definitely off-the-beaten path DAY TRIP! I will be repeating this DAY TRIP on February 15th as well! 

Freiburg Germany - Black Forest

Considered the Black Forest Sunshine town, Freiburg is a classical city of the Schwarzwald. The medieval architecture blends with pieces of the Rennaissance and as we walk through the town to the DAILY market (bring your rolling cart) you can enjoy local delicacies and shop all things Schwarzwald. This UNESCO World Heritage city is now protected and preserved, another University town it is also bustling and full of stores, malls and shopping. We will also be taking the funicular up to the Schloßberg on this DAY TRIP to get panaromic views of the city.

This fun-filled shopping day will be spent at the Wertheim Village Outlet, where you can stock up on your “European essentials.” We will be visiting the Le Creuset where they will be having their after “holiday” special in January!! Lots of other stores to explore as well ~ may have to be a monthly trip!

In Europe, there is a saying, “There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing.” I’m sure this phrase has been passed down for centuries. I believe this too. After living in Germany in the past few years, I love hiking in the winter. Some of the best pictures have come from winter walks in the woods. Join me for this lovely day in the woods where we’ll enjoy lunch at the Kneibishütte! This famous forest hut has an exceptional menu that is carved on a piece of Black Forest wood ~ I will also introduce you to the town of Baiersbronn, known for Cross-Country skiing and winter recreation. Look for that on a February DAY TRIP!

The historic town of Dinkelsbühl is on the Romantic Road Trail of Germany and has been on my list of must-see’s for a while. Come join me as we discover and explore this Franconian-Swabisch town that began in the 8th century. We will enjoy a city tour and lunch in town. All this while taking unbelievable photographs of half-timbered houses, gothic churches and protective towers throughout the whole town.
