Summer fun around Stuttgart

Stuttgart in Summer
Summer in Stuttgart

I love the summer in Germany. If this is your first summer in Stuttgart you are in for a treat and Willkommen! Here is some summer fun around Stuttgart. You will love these seasonal foods and dishes are amazing and it seems almost every little town, no matter the size, has a festival of some sort.  Some of my favorite fests are the medieval fests that include dance, competition, and full Celtic wear. Who doesn’t love meat on a stick too, right? Whether it’s the fresh farmer’s markets or wet, water fun here’s a bunch of ideas to get you started ~

Local pools – out of the ordinary!

  • Need some wet fun! The community pools in Germany bring wet, summer fun to the next level. Be sure to get there in plenty of time during the summer months as parking lots fill up quickly (or better yet, RIDE your bike there if possible)
  • Bring blankets to lay on the grass just in case you get there and all the chairs are taken
  • Most pools have snack shops and/or restaurants available for eating.
  • You’ll receive a key for your locker when paying the entrance fee (which is usually not very expensive/person/child for a day pass)
  • Some pools will ask you for your address as they are trying to serve the immediate community. However, I’ve never been turned away from any of them because I live in Böblingen county.
