Explore Scotland Clans & Castles
September 21 – 30, 2023
In September 2023, I will be bringing a group to Scotland, my absolute favorite country in the United Kingdom. I love it so much I have been NINE TIMES in five years. The people, the food, the culture, the natural beauty, and the list goes on. Come discover and enjoy the Scottish countryside with me next Fall with CIE TOURS!
Highlights of the Tour
Our tour begins in Glasgow, Scotland with a panoramic view tour. Glasgow is famous for being one of the friendliest cities in the world and a UNESCO City of Music. Considered to be a city of culture, architecture, art, and cuisine.
Unfortunately, this tour is no longer available as an escorted GROUP TOUR with ©Travel with Wendy as it did not meet the minimum room hold. The itinerary is still available if you would like to make an individual reservation.
Inverness & Culloden
Inverness is considered the capital of the Highlands and the scenic drive through the Scottish countryside covered in heather and thistle will make you feel as if you have stepped back in time. The Battle of Culloden for those of you “Outlander” fans will get a chance to see where this EPIC battle of Jacobites took place.
Isle of Skye
Absolutely one of the biggest highlights will be the Isle of Skye. I never tire of visiting this enchanted island. We will enjoy some free time in this little town of Portree, although watch your Fish and Chips, the birdies here are aggressive. HA! 😉 🐦
Eilean Donan Castle
Before we make our way to Skye, we will have an opportunity to visit Eilean Donan Castle. Used as a film location for many movies throughout the 90’s from Made of Honor (2008) to Highlander (1986), Loch Ness (1996), Entrapment (1999) and James Bond – The World is Not Enough (1999) Lots of photo ops here.
More photo opportunities await as you visit the picturesque ruins of Urquhart Castle, once Scotland’s largest castle, and embark on a cruise of Loch Ness. This freshwater lake is the deepest in the United Kingdom and who knows you might get lucky and see “Nessy” 🦕
Edinburgh is an incredible city filled with so much history. Inspiration for J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter, and more. Our tour includes a visit to the impressive Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the Queen. A visit to Edinburgh Castle also where you can admire the splendor and grandeur of Queen Mary and see the Scottish Crown Jewels and great views of the city.
On our final night in Scotland, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a little bit of Scottish entertainment!
