This month I had the most amazing trip to St. Croix, USVI (U.S. Virgin Islands). My friend Candy is a Culture Queen! Yea, She loves to travel, loves nature, and has met a ton of people while she’s been living on the island. She’s also a foodie and she introduced me to so many good eats on the island, fresh fruits and veggies, it was so awesome. Yea, she’s a lucky duck, I know. One of the restaurants that she likes is Sand Castle on the Beach, her friend Amy (who knows everyone on the island) and is the Director of the St. George Botanical Gardens joined us for lunch and introduced us to Chris Richardson, Co-Owner of this incredible Adults-Only Resort in historic Frederiksted.
I knew right away I would like Chris. His smile is the first thing that greets you. I have been working in the hospitality and tourism field for over 20 years, I can tell his staff likes him too. We enjoyed our wonderful oceanside lunch and made plans to meet again to record a vlog and podcast to highlight this unbelievable paradise on earth resort.
The Restaurant
This open-air beachfront restaurant was serving at 50% to be COVID safe. Most groups were no larger than six, however, Chris shared that larger parties were welcome just set apart from the main dining area.
Their MENU is fabulous, with a Chef from Ethiopia the flavors and combinations were undeniable YUM! As a trying to eat more Vegan/Vegetarian, I found their menu amazing. As a matter of fact, in my 15-day stay, we ate here three times!
One of our favorites was Barb’s Cruzan Rum Cake! Just writing this my mouth is dying for it! This was a butter bundt cake soaked in island Cruzan Rum – it was 😳
Whether you decide to eat for lunch – brunch – dinner or order to go – you’ll be so happy you did, I promise! HERE’S THE MENU!
Rooms with a View
This island is filled with so much natural beauty every room has a different view that makes you just want to chillax! With 25 rooms to choose from and ten different room types, you might struggle with which one to stay, that’s o.k., you’ll definitely be back! We were staying in a King Sea View Suite with a beautiful sunset and palm trees gently blowing in the wind.

Every room at Sand Castle has air conditioning and either a kitchen or coffee service. The INTERNET is fantastic, so if you need to do a little work while you are away, take heart, they gotcha!

~ Adults Only ~
Sand Castle on the Beach is an adult-only resort, so you have to be sixteen or over to stay. However, they do have daily beach passes available for children, but those are limited every day. If you haven’t been away for an adults only relaxing vacation, this is just ahhhh! Let’s face it, parenting is just plain tough!
Another cool offer that Sand Castle on the Beach has is a Sans Clothes or Clothing Optional Private Courtyard. They have a Courtyard Queen, King, and Kitchen. These rooms are so beautiful and relaxing. Right across the street from the main hotel this private, secluded location is ahhhambience.

So many amenities!
When you decide to stay at Sand Castle on the Beach, you get the whole package and I am not kidding! For guests, there are so many amenities at your service. Chris and Ted are wonderfully generous and offer free snorkeling gear, they have kayaks available and know every hiking route on the island.
If you have a special request to head over to Buck Island for some snorkeling, they gotta guy. If you want to check out the other end of the island, like Christiansted, their staff will hook you up! They also work with my friend Wendy from GotoStCroix.com who has so much information from sailing to golfing, great eats her website and the info is massive!
Historic Frederiksted
So the location of Sand Castle on the Beach is GREAT. It is a very short drive or about a 20-minute walk to historic Frederiksted that has incredible restaurants, the Caribbean Museum Center Museum of the Arts with amazing artists. The island has some incredible talent in all its 28-mile space.
One of our favorite places to pop in for breakfast was Polly’s at the Pier right on the main street in Frederiksted! Oh my YUM! was it good

Ok so have I teased you enough about having a spectacular stay! I sure hope so, if you are looking to travel #covidsafe without a passport for a restorative and relaxing getaway, definitely it needs to be St. Croix and Sand Castle on the Beach, you will thank me, I promise! Tell Chris & Ted I sent you, and you may find yourself returning again and again!
